What foods would work good for an indoor beach wedding themed reception? The wedding will be held at a church. We expect between 150 to 200 people.
No alcohol is allowed. The budget will be around ,000 to ,000.

Seafood would be ideal…however a bit expensive if having 150 to 200 people depends on your budget.
lolts of fish .. prawn cocktails! pine apple on cheese lol !
hmmm, i experienced it my own last year, when i attended a beach wedding… more SEAFOODS!!! plus a summer or haiwaiian outfits or motif will be cool for a reception…
i’m thinking you can go the route of a picnic on the beach or bbq on the beach for inspiration
maybe chicken kabobs with veggies
if you can find a great sale on shrimp – get medium ones to kabob as well
or grilled chicken in one of those lime marinades from lawrys
you can have a fruit platter too
see if you can get a really good deal on fish- tuna or some other large fish. a half or a whole fish, or 2
grill it and serve it warm- you can marinade that too, or cook it with lemon, pepper and dill
have some pasta and potato salad as a side dish
i would serve punch too, a sherbet one and maybe a lemonade punch too, or a virgin sangria or that sort of drink
if you can get a blender you can make virgin margarita and other frozen drinks. (if you want to)
Maybe you should take into account that while fish is a nice idea, not everyone has a taste for it (I don’t like it, but then I’m not invited!
) and it goes off easily which isn’t good especially if you don’t want to be ill on honeymoon! Fruit platters are a nice idea, then why not have a buffet with lots of carved meats and salads, like you’d have on a beach in hawaii or somewhere
coconut flavoured mocktails/cocktails
(e.g. pina colata)
grilled fish and grilled chicken kebabs
roasted vegetables
crisp salads
fruit wedges with coconut shavings for dessert
seafood–shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, oysters.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips.
Have a favorite fish and chips restaurant do catering.
Otherwise you could do tropical foods like would be served at a luau. Grilled pineapple for dessert, coconut fried shrimp, Jamaican jerk chicken, Teriyaki beef.
Serve virgin fruity frozen drinks: pina coladas, strawberry daiquiris, lava flows (strawberry pina coladas), blue hawaiians, etc.
