Beach wedding ?
I’m getting married in September but we can’t in any way afford even the smallest of weddings, so I’d like your opinion on my idea. Invite a very select few people (10 at the most) and go down to the beach where my fiance purposed to me and have the ceremony, me and my girls in white dresses, him and the groomsmen (his three sons) in kaki or black pants and white button up shirt, barefoot – very low key. No need for chairs / decor / or finding a place, just us and the ocean. Then afterwards have a few drinks, a nice dinner somewhere and have fun. All I would plan on needing would be flowers for myself and my girls, someone to marry us, someone to take pictures and a dress (not a wedding dress though – just something simple). Takes all the hassel and worry away but still romantic. What do you think ? Any suggestions or ideas ?
any suggestions on small details that are inexpensive (i.e. wedding party gifts, favors ect.) that would work with this idea ?

I think it sounds lovely…and exactly like the wedding my mom wants me to have. I’ve heard that you have to have permits for the beach, but maybe not if it’s only 10 people. You should check in to this just in case.
I saw some sandalwood fans that you can use as favors and they would be functional if it happens to be hot on your day…not sure how late in Sept you’re getting married.
Update: I found a nicer, silk fan! I think I might get some myself.
I think big weddings are highly over rated. I think it sounds beautiful and very romantiuc.. Much less stressful than a huge wedding. I like it!!!
I like this idea, it could be very romantic. I would do it just as the sun is setting, and set up tiki torches; and have a beach reception after wards.(It wouldn’t cost much) The khaki idea, barefoot and formal shirt are a great idea. You should get a simple white gown (promish) I would use tropical flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres.
I would still have a shower… and a reception…just have a private ceremony to save $$.
That sounds beautiful and very intimate. I love the idea of simple. Favors are not a must and I am sure if your bridal party already knows you are on such a small budget they are not expecting it. Maybe just a copy of some of the pictures. Congrats!
you can give them sea shell that you find in the beach and craft it as keychain or any thing that they can keep and remember your wedding day…
Sounds amazing!! If that’s what you have your heart set on, don’t let anyone change your mind. It sounds like the day will be about you, your future hubby and those closest to you, the way weddings should be!
