Can an engagement ring double as a wedding band?

I’m recently engaged. I have a beautiful new ring. I don’t generally like the look of two rings, even if they are made to match. Can I just use my engagement ring as a wedding band?

Yes, you certainly may. There are no rules about what constitutes a wedding ring – at the end of the day, a wedding ring is a ring given in honor of your wedding vows. It can look however you want it to look, and it can certainly be your engagement ring.
stop being cheap. buy another ring
Yes you can.
I do. I lost my wedding band 5 years ago and have worn the engagement ring ever since.
I think you should be able to do whatever makes you the most happy. If you don’t like the look of two rings, just wear one of them. Or, if you do have a set, you could use one of them on your other hand.
One of my friends actually had them sort of grafted together. Not sure if that’s the way they were built, but now they’re one in the same. You could ask a local jeweler about it.
The ring is a only symbol, if you don’t like two rings, just wear one. The point of the ring is to show that you are taken…
my wife decided just to get a really nice band, its whatever you want it to be
Yes, you can.
You don’t even have to buy a wedding ring at all.
It all depends on your personal preference.
Yes. Many people choose to use the same ring as their wedding ring/engagement ring. It really only comes down to personal preference and what makes you and your spouse happy.
