Do You Think People Would Care If I Did Not Give A Best Man’s Toast?
My brother’s wedding is coming up in a few days and I am the best man. For awhile I have been sort of anxious about giving a speech at the reception. I give them at school all of the time, with minimal problems, but this is in front of 200 people, not 30, and it is something I am completely unfamiliar with.
I wrote a speech and toast that I think is ok but every time I think about having to do it, I feel like I am 2 seconds away from vomiting. This is still 3 days before the wedding. I have been a nervous wreck for about a week. I have no idea what will happen if i actually have to get up there and do it.
I know my brother and his fiancée won’t care if I backed out of it but do you think the wedding guests would care or even notice if i just never gave a speech?

I don’t think they wouldn’t care at the least. However, I think its the right thing and honorable to make that speech. Your brother choose you for a reason. I hope you feel up to it when the time comes and congratulations to your brother and fianceee .
