We attended a wedding over the weekend for my niece, on the invitation it did not mention if the wedding was casual, semi-formal or formal and was being held at 11:30 in the mornig with a buffet reception to follow. I have not seen so many poorly dressed people in all my life at a wedding! There were people there in ripped jeans, t-shirts, overalls!, and even one woman in sweatpants! Now there were also some that were very nicely dressed in casual attire, but nice. Then there were a few that were dressed up, like in my opinion that they were going to a wedding. My question is…. is this normal? Was there anything that she could have put on the invitations to avoid this colorful crowd or would these people dressed how they wished regardless? We are planning two weddings for later this year and I would really like to avoid having people attend in jeans or sweatpants!

My fiance and I are planning a July 08 honeymoon and would like to travel to Hawaii. We want a relaxed, laid back trip. Maybe some sightseeing but mostly hanging out on the beach and relaxing. Any ideas or websites would be greatly appreciated!

I am a bridesmaid in my good friend’s wedding that is coming up in October. The maid of honor asked me to host the bridal shower at my new home. I do not want to do this because the groom’s family a good majority (including his mother) have been to jail, have constant problems with the law, and they aren’t the classiest people. My husband and I don’t socialize with these types of people due to the fact he is in law enforcement and I know my husband will get mad if I ask him.
What is an appropriate way to turn down the maid of honor’s request?
The thing is our new home is 5000 square feet we do have the room.
The maid of honor’s house is a studio apartment that doesn’t fit more than 3 people

So… my fiance and I had this entire wedding planned, but both his family and my family are causing problems. So we’ve decided to just keep the negativity out and have a different kind of dream wedding. Now we want to get married in a castle in Europe, just the two of us! I liked what we had planned before, but what we had planned was really unrealistic due to his family and my family. I have no idea where to start to plan a destination wedding or an elopement. All I know is that we want to get married this December, and our vision for the wedding includes getting married in a European castle. We’d also like it to be somewhere that snows, but not too much. We aren’t really heart-set on that because that’ll be hard to control. Does anyone know where to start or have any ideas??? Anything would be appreciated, because we really are starting from scratch!!! Thanks so much!!!

Ok, I’m planning to have a sea-themed wedding and I think that it would be really personal (and inexpensive) to paint everyone’s names on stones that I would get from our local beach. They would double up as place names and as favours that people could take home. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? Should I be looking for any particular types of stones? Do I need to put some sort of base varnish on (I’m thinking like when you do your nails!) before painting the names on - otherwise will the paint not soak in? I don’t want to paint over the colour of the stones so it would have to be something clear. Then, what sort of paint should I use to do the names? And, finally, should I use some special varnish to seal them? Will they need ‘cooked’? To many questions - hopefully someone will be able to help
