Is a beach themed wedding only for the beach?

Do you think it’s odd to have a beach theme for a reception or ceremony that doesn’t take place on the beach?

Beach themes are very chic. Check out the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings for some examples on how to make a "beach theme" classy and not childish. You can do this anywhere- not just on the beach. And you can take anything about "beach" that you love and create a theme around that.
Ie- blue and white nautical stripes. "sails" -fabric hung from the ceiling. star fish shaped cookies as favors. sandscape centerpieces w/ blue and white candles.
It doesn’t have to look like a kid’s b-day party to be beachy. Just check out a bridal magazine and you’ll see.
Beach is lovely! Go for it!
Hope this helps
No way, nowadays anything goes….there are very cool web-sites that cater to beach themed receptions…go for it!
Sounds like a lot of fun to me.
Definitely not. If you like the beach, bringing it into the theme of your wedding will be a reflection of who you are. Just make sure that everything is done tastefully.
Also remember that you should take this time to plan your marriage and not just your wedding day. Marriage is work and if you put in the time to plan before, it will be a little easier once you are in it! Congratulations and many blessings!
It sounds really cute! Go for it! Maybe you can have the cake with little seashells on it. I love creative people! Good luck!
no thats a good idea!
Love is two halfs coming together. Marriage is to show that bond that you have already created, it should be about you and the one your connecting with and how you want to show your love with you r friends and family.
DUH. thats just corny to even have a beach theme in the first place. this isnt like a swet 16..it’s your wedding for goodness sakes! i say you make it more mature and stuff. none of that beach business unless its actually on the beach. if you want it on a beach…get one of those tents with those plastic windows on them and just put it on the beach. you better go to a secluded beach though..unless you want annoying little kids running around the tent. if not..then rent out a hall or a reception area and make it a winter theme. OOHHH what season are you getting married in? if yuou’re getting married in the winter you could make it a snowy winter white theme with like a red carpet in the middle of the room that you walk in on. oh yeaah. anyways email me telling me what season and i can give u some great ideas! k byee!
No; it can be done very well and look tasteful. A solid tropical colored (even iridescent) strapless bridesmaid dresses with multi-colored tropical flowers would be lovely. At the reception, you could have white linen table cloths with an over lay of fish netting (the real kind; not plastic party kind) in the same color of the bridesmaid dresses and the center pieces could be fish bowls with a few live tropical fish in them (guests could take home the centerpieces at the end of the evening). The wedding cake could be decorated in the same tropical flowers as the bouquets. The bar and buffet stations could be made to look like huts. You could even have a "hut" with games and activities to keep children occupied. Placecards could be made out of sand dollars with guests names printed on them. The possibilities are endless! Best Wishes!
No it’s a great summer theme for any facility. You just need to bring as much of the beach inside as you can.
Of course not! I say if you love the beach, go with a beach theme! Especially in the summer. I can picture a beautiful reception where everything is white and light Caribbean blue. Table center peices are glass bowls filled with white sand and shells and T-light candles. The napkin holders could be starfish (pier 1) and you could have terrific beach-inspired party favors!!!
