I am getting married in a courthouse by a Justice of the Peace on April 9th… My wedding dress is long and white and flowing, not fitted to my body because I will be 8 months pregnant at my wedding! It’s a beach type wedding dress. Anyways, since we are still dressing up in a wedding dress and suit/tie would it be okay if I wore a veil? I wouldn’t want a long veil just something shorter maybe to my bottom or half way down my back… that clips in my hair in the back. Do you know anyone who had a courthouse wedding and wore a veil? We’re also getting pictures and everything done at a nearby park so I kind of want to have a veil on in those at least… We will have 20 ppl at the wedding as guests so it’s kind of like a small wedding, but without the church and bridal party. Thanks

We are planning a beach wedding. I want my bridal party to be dressed fun & comfy. The guys are wearing clothes from Tommy Bahama/wedding.
What can I have the girls wear (2 bridesmaids)
I was thinking something like the link below but I’m not sure I can find what I like. I want something more green not like the color shown. HELP!
http://www.tydelhawaii.com/ishibpanhawa.html
I’m thinking khaiki Lee dunggery shorts for the guys & Tommy Bahma shirt. That is a solid color & the girls in the same solid color or the same color in that print. With different companies its so hard to find something that matches. I also want them to be able to wear it again.
My girls are way to easy going if I had them wear puke green/yellow they would be happy because its what I wanted.

I live in the Pittsburgh PA, we are looking to have a beach wedding. I really like Myrtle beach. My parents are pushing for Virginia beach since its closer. I was wondering what beach is better?
We are planning either a late April 2011 or an early Oct 2011 wedding. Depending on how money & vacation days from work works out.
My parents have never been to either beach, I have only been to Myrtle once my fiance & his family have been going to Myrtle for years. Neither of our families are paying for our wedding. That is why we picked an destination wedding its cheaper. My parents will help pay for the "welcome back" picnic at their house when we come back. Our plan is to find a house on the beach, have just the bridal party stay with us for a few days. Get married & then kick everyone out so we can have some kind of "honeymoon". My fiance will only have 5 days vacation at that time. I don’t care if people stay in the area but we need our own space then.
If everyone we invite comes & brings a guest we will have 26 people coming to our wedding that includes bride & groom! (but I don’t see his sisters bring any one, our rule is you have to be dating them at least 6 months+ we are paying for random people to come to the biggest day of our life then never see them again) Wedding party can bring who ever.
Any other tips on planning a beach wedding?

I am a personal attendant and I want to bring some fun gifts or something for the bridal party the day of the wedding. It is the first wedding that I am a part of (small role, but still a part of!) and wanted some advice from anyone who has the knowledge! Thank you

We are kinda planning an October 1st 2011. Wedding in Myrtle Beach SC. We are sure how to go about planning & when to start?
We want something small. Just bridal party, parents, possibly grandparents & a few other people who we know will be able to come. Under 30 people.
His mom has a time share so we will be able to use that. We are thinking getting married early in the week so we can kick everyone out (lol not really but yes!) & have the end of the week/weekend for our short honeymoon. My fiance will only have a 5 days vacation next year. Plus the weekend before & after. We aren’t sure if we want to go with a venue since the beach is free & public.
Where do we start? We are from Pittsburgh PA (16 hours away)
The cheaper the better! We wanted to spend under 5k…but now we are hoping to do it for less. There is no point in spending a lot of money on 1 day! We know how much we mean to each other we don’t need a huge wedding to prove it. We are have already been together for almost 7 years. Plus our parents have {content} to help us.

Help! I have a wedding this month, and I was just informed by a friend you can’t/shouldn’t wear the same color as the bridal party. And I thought, how would I even know what color they are wearing? I bought a dress BEFORE I received the invite and I looked at the invite and it is the same color as my dress! Would that indicate the color they are wearing? Anyway, the color I picked is seasonal for the fall, which is why I picked it, and it is a Shelli Segal/Laundry dress, so wearing something else is not an option, as I am already broke between the dress and the purse I bought, which cost more than the dress! What should I do? How inappropriate is it to wear the same color? I would think a lot of people would wear the same color considering there are a limited number of options for the fall. And I am just guessing that the wedding invitations are the bridal party’s color, but I don’t know for sure?? Help!
Ok. My dress is brown, the invite had a deep brown on the outside cover, because it is almost fall. My dress is "slinky" or chic, I suppose. The lower edge is not straight around, it is cut sort of jagged or rather longer on the sides than the front. I bought it because it was a good deal at the time even though I can’t afford to NOT wear it at this point. But if you buy a fall dress in May you will get a good deal! I just made the connection tonight that brown might be the bridal party color. And, that was my first time hearing the rule about not "matching" the bridal party, although I would think it might be hard to match since my dress is more cocktailish, but then again some bridal dresses are not as frilly and fancy as they used to be, so if they wear something "plain" looking it might be confusing perhaps. I feel better that they general consensus is that I should be okay, and thanks for answering everyone!!!
Yes, I’m almost 100% certain there is no way this could resemble a wedding dress, and about 85% it wouldn’t resemble a bridesmaid’s dress. I’m thinking the bridesmaids dresses will probably be either a knee-length sheath (if she picked something they could wear again) or longer than mine. I think the jagged bottom will hopefully not have it be mistaken for anything bridal-party related.

I am part of a bridal party that is hosting a honeymoon bridal shower theme. The couple is honeymooning in Hawaii. It is a big shower (about 100 people).
Does anyone have any idea’s on favor and Centerpiece? Also, any ideas for games and decor. We already know the Luau theme, so we were hoping to come up with some other ideas as well.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My best friend is getting married in May. Her bridal shower is at the end of March. I’m trying to think of an original, fun gift that we, the bridal party, can present at her shower as a group.
Also, the bridal party is composed of 5 girls – 1 being out of state and 1 being the groom’s 16 year old sister.

My friend is getting married, the bridal party is splitting the costs for the shower and bachelorett party and also needed to buy dresses that were upwards of 0 each. When it is all said and done we each will have spent at least 0 for this wedding. Recently the bride told me the places that they registered for gifts, just in case I want to get a jump on the pickings. Is this normal?
