What can I have the girls wear (2 bridesmaids)

I’m thinking khaiki Lee dunggery shorts for the guys & Tommy Bahma shirt. That is a solid color & the girls in the same solid color or the same color in that print. With different companies its so hard to find something that matches. I also want them to be able to wear it again.
My girls are way to easy going if I had them wear puke green/yellow they would be happy because its what I wanted.

My guy and I are planning on getting married on the beach in Hawaii. No bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, or ring bearers. Just us, the minister, and those family members who could make the trip out with us. Our plan was to rent a house on the beach for our immediate family and walk out from there.

I’m looking at an ivory dress (since pure white doesn’t look right on me) and we were going to find him a nice linen shirt with some pants. For the guests, I figure let them wear what they are comfortable in.

My guy says that at least for his family, especially his mother and sister, we need to be more specific of exactly what we want them to wear. Here’s the thing, I’m not trying to micromanage someone’s wardrobe and I want people to be comfortable.

Is it unreasonable to think that most people in the world can figure out that if they are going to a beach wedding in Hawaii, that the guys wear a nice shirt and slacks, perhaps shorts, and the women wear a nice dress, perhaps a sun dress?

Do I really need to explicitly say "No jeans, t-shirts, holes, or stains"? He thinks I need to be explicit, but my thought is if his family wants to be immortalized in photography wearing jeans and a t-shirt to our wedding then thats on them.

I’d really like to wear my wedding dress and have the wedding party wear thier wedding clothing so that the bridesmaids can wear their dresses a second time and guests will get to see us in person in our wedding gear. Do you think this appropriate? I really want to do this, get another wear out of everything, otherwise the wedding party and I would probably want to buy another nice new outfit to wear to that, so it would give us another chance to wear it for our money and prevent the wedding party from stressing over what to wear. What do you think?
The guys wont be wearing tuxes, they will be wearing dress shirts and dress pants with optinal suit jacket.

It has a 1920′s feel so I’d like something similar for my flower girls but I have no idea where to look! Monsoon has the perfect dress but they do not ship to the US. Any other ideas? I’d like to keep the price relatively reasonable.
The bridesmaids are wearing chiffon dresses from Jcrew in Espresso and my fiance is wearing a tan linen suit. We were thinking linen pants for the groomsmen with linen long sleeve shirts perhaps but then I’m not sure where to find something similar for the ring bearer! Any ideas of where to look would help a lot!
I don’t have children so I don’t know which children’s stores have what. Please answer with specific examples, thanks!

My destination wedding is several months from now and my bridesmaids are now planning my shower. My maid of honor is planning a traditional shower for me, and my bridesmaids are planning a couples shower. They plan on only inviting those who are invited to the wedding, however, I have had some people, who are not invited to the wedding ask me to send them a shower invite since they will not be able to attend the wedding. My fiancee and I will not be having a reception when we return. Since they have personally asked me to be invited to the shower, should I still send them an invite. I don’t want them to feel left out since they were not invited to the wedding. If I should invite them, should I the put "no gifts necessary" on their particular shower invite? I see a problem doing this too, because if they show up with no gift and everybody else has gifts they might feel bad. Any input is appreciated.
The reason why these people were not invited is because the venue we are having our wedding at only allows 50 guests including bride/groom and wedding party. Having these people and family covers the 50 people.

at the wedding of some friends of mine, they hired a dj who came VERY highly recommended. they met with him several times before the actual wedding, went over the list of songs they wanted and all the requests from guests (the bride and all of us bridesmaids have a few songs that are very important to us, a few inside jokes, all good music), plus there were a few things his parents and her parents wanted to hear. nothing crazy. all in all i think there were MAYBE ten requests. the dj wrote them all down, and they had seen his cd collection so they knew he had all the songs they requested.

come the night of the wedding, the guy is cheesy as hell. of the ten requests made, he played two. the reception was five hours long, he could have easily played them all. instead it was like he flat out ignored them in favor of music that no one there listens too and all the stereotypical wedding songs.

so irritating. needless to say he wont be getting a phone call when i need a dj
this wasnt really a SERIOUS question or anything, i just thought some people might get a giggle out of each others horror stories

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone had attended a wedding in which the bride wore a white dress and the bridesmaids indian saris? I will wear a white dress (maybe with some indian features in it) in church and change into an indian outfit for the reception. I’m debating what to do for the girls. Would it look weird??Any websites with pictures I could maybe see?
I am Polish and my fiance is Indian but we are both christian so the white dress is totally acceptable for his family as well as mine. I thank you guys for the answers and great ideas. I will definitely wear a lengha…i wore a sari for the engagement party and can see how it could be cumbersome. I really love the indian outfits and colors! I spoke to some of the BM and they would love to wear a sari!!! It is different for them and it would be fun!! Thanx guys for the ideas )

I am getting married in Aug on a beach. I can not find any websites that truely help me. I want my bridesmades (3) to wear sundresses (could be floral could be solid) If solid colors they don’t have to match if floral they do. But i cant find any dresses ANYWHERE! My dress is also very informal and the groom will wear a white button up shirt with kaki shorts and the groomsman will wear hawian theamed shirts to match the bridesmaids. Any ideas as to websites that give beach wedding ideas? Any idea where to find bridesmaid/groomsmen wear? I live in West Michigan if that counts for anything. I’ve even considered having them made if i can find the right patterns and material.

I have 6 bridesmaids for my October beach wedding. I have three shades of blue as my colors and two girls will wear a color. I was thinking of giving pashmina wraps as gifts since it will probably get chilly out. I was wondering what color to get since they will be in three different shades (a light pool blue, a medium tropical blue, and a deeper marine blue). I thought white at first but I think that would look too stark with all the dresses. I also thought about doing a contrasting blue (so the girls wearing light blue would get dark blue wraps) but I am not sure what to do about the medium blue dresses. Help! Maybe someone has a better suggestion for gifts or is good with colors. PS i do not want to get beach totes! Thanks!

My husband’s brother is getting married on December 15th. Their wedding was supposed to be semi-formal. They aren’t having a dance or a dinner, just a luncheon with family and then an open house style reception. But the groom decided he wanted the dads and brothers to wear tuxes. But the bride doesn’t care what the moms and sisters wear, mostly because of a limit of money. She does have two bridesmaids who will be wearing formal dresses in her colors, a friend and one of her sisters. On the groom’s side there are 4 sisters, two of which have husbands who will be wearing tuxes. So my question is should the moms and sisters wear formal dresses or just semi-formal dresses or skirt/shirt outfits that are the best they have? I asked the bride and she doesn’t even care about anything, "as long as she gets married." So pretty much her mom and one of the groom’s sisters is planning the whole thing. Is there special etiquette for this?
