Just out of curiousity. I heard things that the engagement ring is supposed to be %30 of your anual salary. I want to know the estimate price for bands and engagement rings….AND ALSO, if you dont mind sharing how much your wedding cost.

I know you cant put a price of love but these days I want to know how much people are spending for a wedding and bands.

What is the correct way to wear an engagement ring and wedding band? My husband says the engagement ring goes on first than the wedding band. I say it’s the other way around. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not married yet, but I am engaged. And I have been wondering what the tradition is for where the wedding band is soposed to be…on the inside of the engagement ring; closest to the heart…..or on the outside on the engagement ring so that the center diamond is closest to the heart?

Please no answers saying I can have it whatever way I want it, I just want to know what it is soposed to be traditionally, thank you!

I’m getting married next spring. My fiance and I are in the process of planning our wedding and ironing out the details.
I really dig this wedding band for myself, but I guess it’s a man’s one..
I like the black onyx and diamond alternating, plus it’s cheaper than all diamonds across the front of the band (which is kind of what he wants to get me since our engagement ring is quite simple). We’re planning a modest wedding and are both just finishing college - so we’re in debt.

anyway, I dig this black and white kind of thing. Is it too mannish? (I didn’t even know it was a mens’ ring at first..)
Do you know of a womens’ version of it?

Thanks! I saw it on the back of a birdal magazine, and didn’t realize it was a "man’s" ring until I looked it up online. It’s a benchmark diamond and onyx.
My fiance digs it, too. I was just curious - from an objective point of view..

It is a slim ring - which should go well with our engagement ring.

My fiance and I are getting married in Mexico. She doesn’t want the rings soldered before the wedding, as she wants to wear her engagement ring until the day of and then add the wedding band during the ceremony. Is there a way (some kind of clasp or something) to keep the rings together while we are on our honeymoon, before we get them soldered together?

me and my girlfriend are still in university and dont want to get married until after we finish, but we want to be engaged and are ready to make the commitment, but i can’t afford a nice engagement ring yet, so what she wanted to do was to buy the wedding bands for now kind of like as a sign were already married or engaged, then when we graduate and when i can afford the engagement ring, i’d buy that and propose officially, by then we’d already have the wedding band, is this sort of breaking tradition or something?

I really want my wedding band to have pear shaped diamonds (they are my favorite, and my engagement ring does not have any, so I want to incorporate them some how!) The problem is, I can’t find one anywhere! I know the size of the stones, and type of metal change the cost of the ring, but how much more expensive is it to have your ring custom made instead of buying one straight out of the jewelry case? I thought the hard ring-shopping work was over when I bought my fiancee’s engagement ring. WRONG. Now I have to get a ring for myself. I got platinum for her because I knew it was what she wanted, but now I don’t know what to get for myself. I definitely want a white metal, but after that I’m lost. If your engagement ring is very fancy and has an odd shape, how do you deal with not being able to have a wedding band that fits with it? I know some people just have a wedding band custom-made to work with the band but what if it will just look too odd to have the band dip around the contours of the ring? What are the traditional ways to deal with this? Should the bride just only use the engagement ring as her wedding ring? If so, should she take off her engagement ring on her wedding day and have her fiance put it on her finger in the ceremony? What else could she do? Should she wear her engagement ring on her right hand and her wedding band on her left? How do people deal with this?

An engagement ring is one single ring but an engagement set is two rings.. so is just one ring given and then at the ceremony the other one given? Or are both given when the woman accepts? Are engagement set and bridal set interchangeable? One ring is given before a ceremony and the other is reserved for at the ceremony.
Ok so a few of the posters of answers said they had never herd of an engagement set.. I had never herd of it either but I got a catalog in the mail from fingerhut and decided to browse their site and under jewlery/wedding there it was. Engagement set and bridal set.. both on the same page and to me they look like the same thing. One ring usually with a diamond and the second ring that is the same width decorated similarly without the diamond. Looks to me as they are one in the same.

I have a very thin band for my engagement ring (2 mm) and I would like a wedding band of similar size but would like to get it engraved as well. I was just wondering if there was a minimum width the ring would have to be for engraving. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks!
