Just wondering why when getting married, the engagement ring comes off and is worn on top of the band? wouldn’t be easier to just slap the band on top of the engagement ring?? I’m sure there’s a story behind this…
My husband insured my engagement ring when he purchased it. Now that I have two rings, I would like to have them welded together. Would this cancel or nullify the insurance on my engagement ring? Would I have to re-insure the rings after I have them welded together?

My fiance bought my engagement ring at Rogers and Hollands and he bought the lifetime protection plan. The wedding band I love is at Kay Jewelers but I’m concerned that if we buy that one and sodder it to my engagement ring that it will cause the Rogers and Holland protection to be invalid. Does anyone know how this works or should I just buy a band from R&H?

I have the wedding band to my future wife’s engagement ring and it looks amazing. I am debating if I should show it to her or not. It has been custom made to fit her engagement ring so no worries about it not fitting on our wedding day.
Should I show her now or wait till I slip it on her finger on the wedding day?
Special note: I really want to see her reaction (she will love it) during our wedding, but I am fighting not showing it to her now.
I have looked at a few titanium ring sites but have yet to find a womens celtic wedding band that would match any celtic black titanium engagement ring. Does anyone know of a site that does custom rings, or if you have seen what I am looking for?
AND why would anybody want to spend 1000$ in these economic times for 2 different rings when they both symbolize the same basic idea, that your heart belongs to someone else.
Doesn’t a promise ring suffice as an engagement ring? I mean, they both mean the same thing, that you are promised, taken, etc. Some of the promise rings are expensive enough to be wedding rings.
I really prefer silver and white gold jewelry so I would like my engagement ring to be one of those but I like the traditional look of a gold wedding band so would those two go together decently?

We purchased my engagement ring and wedding band as a set. The engagement ring looks amazing on its own, but the band sets the entire set off and my ring takes on an entire new look. My fiance and I are not planning on getting married until 2010. Could I wear my band now or will that look tacky? Currently I am wearing my engagement ring while the band sits in the box. I was recently engaged. Problem: I cannot find a wedding band that looks good with my engagement ring. It is a 1 3/4 karat 3 stone princess cut in white gold. I really don’t want too fancy of a band. PLEASE HELP!!!
