We are having a Garden wedding. and for our favors we are going to by small pots and have our names/date calligraphed on them. We want to plant seeds in them and let it be a surprise as to what flowers will bloom. But we can’t even figure out what flower to put inthem!?!
Any ideas on A small (and will stay small) purple or blue flower that is low maintanance that we could plant in the pots?

I am planning on going with the multiple wedding cake idea. Instead of having just one stacked cake, I was looking at having several round cakes. Two larger sized ones and the rest smaller. Any ideas on arrangement or patterns on the cake. I am looking to only use a few flowers if possible or go with a nice pattern. Any links or pictures you can provide would be great so I can borrow the ideas. Thanks!

Is there any instructions anywhere? How is color added in gradiations such as on an iris?
Maybe I should be more clear. I am thinking the flowers that I saw made were made from fondant or something like that since they were something that was rolled out not made in a bag

I am ordering vases for wedding favors, which will double as centerpieces. How far in advance should I order the flowers? I will need about 125.

It is going to be on the water, the end of june
not really on the beach, like you have to walk down a few stairs to actually get to the sand.
colors i am still deciding on.
-What flowers should i have? beachy flowers?
-I am trying to find a good picture of a beachy or sand castle wedding cake.
-I am still stuck on favors.
-and i dont know what to make my centerpieces.
-invitations, i cant find any cute enough? any ideas?
-Should i have it at sunset, so its romantic, and the reception after or should i have the ceremony in the day time, reception by sunset?
(the reception and the actual ceremoney are gonig to be at the same spot i am thinking)
UGH! help ?
just help me answer like one bullet and i will be happy!

So we are having a beach wedding, something very simple. I want to go with a short cotton dress, not anything traditional at all. I am having trouble finding one though, all i can find are cotton dresses that are different colors. If any other color is in it, I’d like it to be light pink, because that will match my flowers. So if you have any ideas where to find one, I’d greatly appreciate it!

I am about to get married in two weeks. My fiance and i have been the wedding planners since we started organizing our "BIG DAY".. yeah, we are neophytes about this stuff and as time goes along, we managed to do it on ourselves. The entourage has been set, flowers, gowns and attires, the venue, food, favours, and invitation and rings, and everything (that is what we assumed)..
can somebody tell me if we have forgotten something? i am afraid we can only find it out during the big event.. id really appreciate all answers..

I’m getting married in September but we can’t in any way afford even the smallest of weddings, so I’d like your opinion on my idea. Invite a very select few people (10 at the most) and go down to the beach where my fiance purposed to me and have the ceremony, me and my girls in white dresses, him and the groomsmen (his three sons) in kaki or black pants and white button up shirt, barefoot - very low key. No need for chairs / decor / or finding a place, just us and the ocean. Then afterwards have a few drinks, a nice dinner somewhere and have fun. All I would plan on needing would be flowers for myself and my girls, someone to marry us, someone to take pictures and a dress (not a wedding dress though - just something simple). Takes all the hassel and worry away but still romantic. What do you think ? Any suggestions or ideas ?
any suggestions on small details that are inexpensive (i.e. wedding party gifts, favors ect.) that would work with this idea ?

I have been a bridesmaid 8 times and been to over 20 weddings. I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood in the north east and none of my friends were wealthy by any means. Every wedding I have ever been to has been almost identical. 150-300 people, big church, hotel ballroom or golf club reception with your choice of filet mignon or stuffed chicken, DJ or band, fancy flowers, elaborate centerpieces and really nice favors. Every wedding is the exact same!! No surprises. I have never been to a wedding on the beach, catering hall, backyard, outside or somewhere casual. I had no idea weddings like this were that common until I started visiting this site. Is this common? Do others in the northeast share my observation?

I am planning a bridal shower and I am setting up a table with a recipe book (guests were asked to fill out a recipe card to enter into the book when they arrive) and some flowers. I’d also like to include an 8×10 photo frame with a nice poem in it on this table. Only problem is, I don’t know any nice non-corny poems to use! Any suggestions? Has anyone done this before?

Me and my fiance have just decided where we are having our wedding, we are going to have the ceromony on the beach and the reception hall is on the same beach. i have a couple questions-
1. does anybody know any good website for a wedding dress for the beach, in the sense of summery, and short but still elegant and classy. any sites will do.
2. is white ok? or should i be original and go for a color. for the dress.
3. i am a girly girl, but since it is going to be a summer wedding. i want vibrant colors for flowers and deco and wedding party, how is BRIGHT PINK? or do you think that is to "childish" or any other advice?
4. my fav flower is a tulip but taht is a spring flower do you think it is ok to have taht as my main flower in the summer???
5.and the hall is attached to a deck, so i want eating inside, and dancing and the band outside, and i want to focus more on the deck for decorations and make it very ‘magical" with lights intertwined with flowers, any other more ideas????
oh yes i am going to be 23 at the time of the wedding and my fiance will be 26, just so you get a sense of the "age group"
THANKS GUYS!!!

We don’t have a lot of money for our wedding invitations and want to make them ourselves. I have a lot of pressed flowers, all set to go, but I don’t know how to glue them on to paper as part of the invitations. And after they’re glued, do they need to go in some special envelope or plastic casing so the flowers don’t come off? What other things do I need to do to make them look nice? Thanks for any help!

We are getting married in the spring and we wanted gerbera daisies at first. But we are trying to spend as little as possible and still make it pretty. We are wanting it to feel and look like an old fashioned country wedding with a small old church and just a few people.
What would be the easiest flowers to grow in pots ourselves that would be ready for cutting in April? Oh, and they have to make a 500 mile trip. lol
