We are planning a beach wedding. I want my bridal party to be dressed fun & comfy. The guys are wearing clothes from Tommy Bahama/wedding.
What can I have the girls wear (2 bridesmaids)

I’m thinking khaiki Lee dunggery shorts for the guys & Tommy Bahma shirt. That is a solid color & the girls in the same solid color or the same color in that print. With different companies its so hard to find something that matches. I also want them to be able to wear it again.
My girls are way to easy going if I had them wear puke green/yellow they would be happy because its what I wanted.

I am trying to coordinate my wedding colors. I really like the blue and green idea but now I am having trouble and dont know if they will work. Whats your thoughts on the combo? I would prefer blue dresses with a green sash for the girls, tan suits for the guys with white shirts and a green and blue stripped tie. Then my decision gets harder with the flowers. Do I just keep it blue and green or should I add some pinks into them? Please help. Any pictures would be great!

I want my wedding to be casual.. not jeans/t-shirts but not tuxedos. I’m getting married next September. I know the girls are going to be in dresses of course, but I’m still unsure of a color scheme and what that guys should wear… any help would be greatly appreciated =D
Just to answer some questions..

I don’t know what my colors are yet… I want something good for the season. The dresses are going to be pretty but not too fancy…not sure on the style yet.. wow, I need to do some serious planning! =)

I have heard and seen movies where the girls always dream of their wedding. Like they want the ‘perfect wedding’. Do most girls do this? I never have. Well, that could be because I don’t even really want to get married. But seriously? I personally think weddings are a huge waste of money an I would rather just get married on the beach in our swimsuits with just our family there, and then go to pizza after.

So, do girls really dream of the perfect wedding when they are little, and I’m just weird?

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone had attended a wedding in which the bride wore a white dress and the bridesmaids indian saris? I will wear a white dress (maybe with some indian features in it) in church and change into an indian outfit for the reception. I’m debating what to do for the girls. Would it look weird??Any websites with pictures I could maybe see?
I am Polish and my fiance is Indian but we are both christian so the white dress is totally acceptable for his family as well as mine. I thank you guys for the answers and great ideas. I will definitely wear a lengha…i wore a sari for the engagement party and can see how it could be cumbersome. I really love the indian outfits and colors! I spoke to some of the BM and they would love to wear a sari!!! It is different for them and it would be fun!! Thanx guys for the ideas )

I can not decide if I want a plain wedding band or one with diamonds. I like the plain one because it is a wider ring and makes my fat finger look not so fat. But I also like the diamond band because it is so shiny and it is demands!! HELP!!

My best friend is getting married in May. Her bridal shower is at the end of March. I’m trying to think of an original, fun gift that we, the bridal party, can present at her shower as a group.
Also, the bridal party is composed of 5 girls – 1 being out of state and 1 being the groom’s 16 year old sister.

Whether or not you’re having anything to do with your bridal shower, what are you giving–or what are your bridesmaid giving- to guests at your bridal shower?
I know a light lunch is usually served, or just snack-type foods.
But besides, that what little gift are you giving?

I know something like coasters is nice because the girls attending the shower will most likely use them and they’re inexpensive.

We decided on these dresses because my wedding is by the beach (on grass area) its on 29/11/08 so 2 days before summer in Australia and all the girls are very tall 2 of them are 5’8” and the other 5’9” all slender and will be wearing flats im not traditional and we wanted something that they could wear again and did really look like a traditional bridesmaid dress we are all 22-23 years old so we wanted something that looked young and fun!

We think this will look beautiful together what do you think?

I don’t care what other people wear, but I don’t even think I will ever find a nice wedding dress for me because all the designers ever want to make is strapless. I have not seen anyone even look good in a strapless dress, no matter what size they are (even though the bigger girls that pour out the top of their dress really kill me). And I think for church weddings they are totally inappropriate, Maybe for beach weddings they are cool.

I was just wondering if anyone felt the same way and also, where to find pretty dresses with cap sleeves, or off the shoulder sleeves.

Any advice on what style of bridesmaid dress is appropriate for a destination wedding. I plan to marry in Negril, Jamaica and while it is not a super formal affair, I’d like for it to be a semi-formal dress code. I want my girls to look like bridesmaids, but I also don’t want them to look stiff. How do I demonstrate a relaxed but semi-formal dress code?

I agree that every bridal party should care for their bride enough to throw them a shower and a bachelorette party. However, I am in a wedding this year and the bride is acting like these things are entitlements rather than gifts or genstures from her bridal party. She has laid out explicitly what she wants for both and both are pretty over the top. She wanted a shower a year before the wedding because she scheduled to move into her house then and wanted to have everything all at once. She scheduled a ridiculous bachelorette party a week before Christmas and created a detailed itinerary for the day, indicated that we must have t-shirts made with a "catchy phrase" about her. Isn’t that stuff that the bridal party should come up with? I feel like we can’t do anything nice for her because she’s being too specific. Shouldn’t you let the bridal party act on their own? I agree that every bride should give the girls an idea of what they want but not like this.
To give a little more detail to the bachelorette party around the holidays- 30 bars in 8 hours, rented bus and of course the t-shirts with the phrase. She offered to pay if the cost got out of controll.

A group of us girls (about 8 of us) are going to Vegas next weekend to celebrate a friends impending wedding. It’s a bachelorette weekend, but seeing that she’s getting married oversees, we want to hold a small bridal shower for her over brunch/lunch one day. Any suggestions of places on the strip that would provide a fun, yet intimate, setting for a bridal shower?
