Expert Advice About Beach Wedding Planning And Destination Wedding Locations.
We are having a lakeside wedding at my Grannie’s farm. The groom and groomsmen are wearing nice khakis, white shirts and green ties that match the bridesmaid dresses. Should my dad wear the same? Should the groom wear a different tie so he stands out and my dad wear the green tie?
My guy and I are planning on getting married on the beach in Hawaii. No bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, or ring bearers. Just us, the minister, and those family members who could make the trip out with us. Our plan was to rent a house on the beach for our immediate family and walk out from there.
I’m looking at an ivory dress (since pure white doesn’t look right on me) and we were going to find him a nice linen shirt with some pants. For the guests, I figure let them wear what they are comfortable in.
My guy says that at least for his family, especially his mother and sister, we need to be more specific of exactly what we want them to wear. Here’s the thing, I’m not trying to micromanage someone’s wardrobe and I want people to be comfortable.
Is it unreasonable to think that most people in the world can figure out that if they are going to a beach wedding in Hawaii, that the guys wear a nice shirt and slacks, perhaps shorts, and the women wear a nice dress, perhaps a sun dress?
Do I really need to explicitly say "No jeans, t-shirts, holes, or stains"? He thinks I need to be explicit, but my thought is if his family wants to be immortalized in photography wearing jeans and a t-shirt to our wedding then thats on them.

It has a 1920′s feel so I’d like something similar for my flower girls but I have no idea where to look! Monsoon has the perfect dress but they do not ship to the US. Any other ideas? I’d like to keep the price relatively reasonable.
The bridesmaids are wearing chiffon dresses from Jcrew in Espresso and my fiance is wearing a tan linen suit. We were thinking linen pants for the groomsmen with linen long sleeve shirts perhaps but then I’m not sure where to find something similar for the ring bearer! Any ideas of where to look would help a lot!
I don’t have children so I don’t know which children’s stores have what. Please answer with specific examples, thanks!

I am going to a wedding right after christmas. My long time boyfriends brother is getting married. It is a quickly thrown together wedding. Total planning time will be 3 weeks. It is being held in a ballroom with somewhere between 125-175 guests. Groomsmen (boyfriend) will be in tux’s and that sort of attire.

With the holidays coming up, I am not sure I will have enough time to find another dress to wear. I would wear a sweater at the church and probably take that off for the reception. Also I am 5’1 so the dress hits my knee (not too short) and it shows no cleavage. I would wear black pumps with some definte height because my boyfriend is 6’3 and sometimes without extra height pictures are hard for us. Would this cream and black dress be appropriate?
Also, my boyfriend and I just met his brothers fiance a couple of days ago. This has been a quick relationship. So it is hard to ask her what she would like when she doesn’t feel like she knows us or us know her.
I am getting married in Aug on a beach. I can not find any websites that truely help me. I want my bridesmades (3) to wear sundresses (could be floral could be solid) If solid colors they don’t have to match if floral they do. But i cant find any dresses ANYWHERE! My dress is also very informal and the groom will wear a white button up shirt with kaki shorts and the groomsman will wear hawian theamed shirts to match the bridesmaids. Any ideas as to websites that give beach wedding ideas? Any idea where to find bridesmaid/groomsmen wear? I live in West Michigan if that counts for anything. I’ve even considered having them made if i can find the right patterns and material.
I was just informed by my fiance’s mother that his father will refuse to wear a tux to our wedding. I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable so I thought perhaps I could just ask him to wear khakis and a blue plaid shirt (since our colors are blue and white). I think if I do this, my dad should also wear something similar so photos will look better. Also I could have the ringbearer (my little brother) wear the same thing. I thought of putting the groomsmen in that too, but I think tuxs would be better for them. My wedding will be pretty casual anyway, so do you think this would look okay? Just the groom and groomsmen in tuxs? Also, should I ask my mother and his to pick a similar dress or at least the same color? Another question: My dad is bald and looks bad without a hat… however I’m getting married in a church so he can’t really wear one… what would be your suggestions there? Thanks for all opinions
I posted what my future wedding would look like and after getting feedback, i’m thinking the ocean theme my future fiance (he told me my ring is coming soon and his sister also slipped it’s going to happen soon too) and I started planning the wedding together the past few months. everything is pretty much picked out but our beach theme just doesn’t fit w/our colors and environment. can you give me some ideas (post is long but fun to read and i need help!!!)

My fiance & I are getting married July 31st at the beach (NC, OBX). The groomsmen are wearing natural colored linen pants with a linen ivory shirt. My dress is ivory. I want the groom to stand out a little however, not too many color options left. The girls are wearing Chocolate Brown dresses (knee length-chiffon material) with an ivory sash, and the third color is orange. I don’t want him to wear all ivory as it may clash with my dress. He is wearing the same natural linen pants as the groomsmen but I am trying to figure out a shirt color/style…any suggestions? My dress is more the formal type beach dress. So the wedding is a little bit fancier beach wedding but also with some casual to it as well kind of inter mixing the both. Most of the photos I have seen the groom has a Jacket but I think he would sweat to death and I want him to be more comfortable, Other photos I have seen the groom is all in 1 color like white pants/white shirt, or ivory shirt/ivory pants-Thanks for any suggestions.

) the vest idea may work. The only reason I didn’t do chocolate brown shirts was because I didn’t want everyone to look so dark (but I had thought about that….so thank you for the idea). We had gone to another wedding and chocolate brown was the color too and both the bridesmaids and groomsmen were all wearing chocolate brown and even my fiance (who doesn’t know how to coordinate haha stated….too much brown)…plus i don’t want them to get too hot with dark shirts…but i do appreciate all of the suggestions….keep em comin!
i doubt my other half would go for the blue shirt and summer hat…haha I can picture him giving me the "i doubt it" look now…

GROOM and I have discussed ALL of this (lol). we’ve been talking about getting married for about a year now-he has seen all of it (even the dress-just not on me!!)
We are getting married in September of THIS YEAR. He JUST asked me two days ago. The entire wedding party is on a very tight budget. We are trying to do a traditional wedding for the sake of our families, but we both wanted a Medieval wedding. He also wants to wear his dress blues.(he is Air Force, so navy blue on top of baby blue) Any tips sites or links for affordable wedding attire, men and women with a fantasy look that won’t clash with a modern military dress uniform? We need to keep a cap of 0 per person on the outfit, we will have 3-4 groomsmen/bridesmaids (8-10 people including the 2 of us). It doesn’t have to be a complete accurate period look, just a slight fantasy twist. Simple but not plain.
so we are having a beach wedding and our colors are white, light blue and tan/khaki. and my fiance wants for the myself and the groomsmen to be wearing legit tuxedos, not just khaki pants and a white shirt.
so for the grromsmen was thinking a tan tuxedo wiht a white dress shirt and a light blue vest and tie that matches the bridesmaids dresses. not a bow tie though, neither of us liek the bow tie.
but for me im not sure what i want to do. i mena i really want a white tux, my fiance agrees that i look good in a white tux, and i think it looks sharp and put a little more spotlight on me without taking it away from her. so i was thinking all white, white tux, white pants, white vest and tie and white dress shirt. but since it is a beach wedding, i was thinking maybe i shoudl go wiht the tan as well? liek the same tan tux as the grooms men but white vest and tie instead of blue? what are your thoughts? you cna also give other options, thanks.
For everything, resort, dress, gifts for guests (we are doing baskets for each room and gifts for 6 bridesmaids/ 6 groomsmen) and maybe a group activity or something.

We decided on these dresses because my wedding is by the beach (on grass area) its on 29/11/08 so 2 days before summer in Australia and all the girls are very tall 2 of them are 5’8” and the other 5’9” all slender and will be wearing flats im not traditional and we wanted something that they could wear again and did really look like a traditional bridesmaid dress we are all 22-23 years old so we wanted something that looked young and fun!
