My wedding is not for another year, but I would just like an idea of how much should be spent on each on my groomsmen and bridesmaids. they are all doing alot for this wedding so i want to show them im very appreciative. i want to give them something above average, but i dont know what average is to begin with…. so what is the average value of a bridal party gift?? so i know where to work from there.

I am getting married in February, 2009 and I am in search of a local store that rents kilts for such an event. My fiance is scottish. So he and all of his groomsmen will be wearing them. We need 9 of them, including a child size. We will be renting the black watch kilt pattern….
If any of you know of a local place, near Huntington Beach CA, or anywhere in southern California, please let me know.

IS THAT OK? OF COURSE THE COAT AND ALL TOO. AND MY FIFI GOT THOSE OLDSCHOOL ZOOT SUIT LOOKING SHOES THAT ARE BLACK WITH WHITE ON TOP OF THE TOE PART. Okay, so I am planning a black and white/creamish wedding for November 2009. I will be wearing a white/creamish colored dress and my bridesmaids will be wearing black. I’m not sure what to put the groomsmen in so that there isnt too much black. Any ideas of what I could do to make the groom look a little different and not have too much black? Thanks for any help!!

I’m getting married in September but we can’t in any way afford even the smallest of weddings, so I’d like your opinion on my idea. Invite a very select few people (10 at the most) and go down to the beach where my fiance purposed to me and have the ceremony, me and my girls in white dresses, him and the groomsmen (his three sons) in kaki or black pants and white button up shirt, barefoot - very low key. No need for chairs / decor / or finding a place, just us and the ocean. Then afterwards have a few drinks, a nice dinner somewhere and have fun. All I would plan on needing would be flowers for myself and my girls, someone to marry us, someone to take pictures and a dress (not a wedding dress though - just something simple). Takes all the hassel and worry away but still romantic. What do you think ? Any suggestions or ideas ?
any suggestions on small details that are inexpensive (i.e. wedding party gifts, favors ect.) that would work with this idea ?

Do you think that it would be to casual for my groomsmen to wear guyaberas as their attire for my wedding, the ceremony will be held at a catholic church. I really don’t want my groomsmen to spend on a tux rental, But what do you think?
By the way, My wedding has a very Spanish, Mexican style to it.

It’s not for 2 years (May 15, 2010) but I like to have everything planned WAAAY in advance, cuz I tend to have bad luck, and I want to give myself plenty of time to fix anything that goes wrong.
Here’s what I know so far:
-white & red color scheme, with some black
-beach wedding = Cape May, New Jersey
-my mommom is buying my dress, <0. The fiancee likes stuff to be off the shoulder.

What kind of dress do you wear on the beach? Do you wear flip flops?

I am getting married on the beach here in Florida and then having the reception inside a room at the hotel. It is a casual wedding. The groomsmen are going to wear khaki pants and white shirts while the bridesmaids are going to wear cocktail length dresses. The groom might wear a khaki suit to match the men’s pants and a white shirt, no tie. I really liked this dress but someone told me it would be way too dressy for a casual wedding. What do you think? It’s on St. Pete Beach. I like lots of the dress suggestions, some are even ones I have tried on. It just stinks- I am not heavy but I am very curvy. Ok im doing all my flowers for my wedding myself i made the bouquets and then took one rose out of each bouquet with some baby breathe and did the boutonnieres now im going to start making the mother of the groom and mother of the brides flowers should they be the same flower as the bridesmaids and groomsmen or can they be a different flower?

Do to a long story of circumstances I have 4 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen. At the wedding it is no bid deal because the guys stand at the front and the girls walk down the isle by themselves. But, what about when they walk back out of the church and more importantly, when we do introductions in front of the reception? Should I introduce one guy by himself, or have two guys escort in one girl?

My fiance and I are getting married on a pretty beach on a lake in our area. The groomsmen are all wearing tuxes and the bridesmaids will be wearing long, flowing gowns. It will not be a casual wedding, we are having a formal dinner at a banquet hall following the ceremony. My father has already reserved his tux, but now my fiance’s father refuses to rent a tux because he says that "you don’t wear tuxes to a beach wedding". I am irritated because the only reason my father rented a tux in the first place is because my fiance’s father was planning on wearing one, and he wanted to match in formality.

His father seems to think that he knows everything about weddings, just because he used to DJ. If he doesn’t want to wear a tux, that’s fine but is it really that ridiculous to have the fathers in tuxes for a beach wedding? Or is he just once again trying to be difficult?

My wedding was supposed to be outdoors on a lake, but plans fell through and we are trying to plan a beach wedding. The guys still want to do black suits? My girls will be in coral-ish knee length dresses. This is a picture my one guy sent me of his brother’s wedding and they were on the beach in black suits. It doesn’t look "bad" to me.. I just picture a beach wedding more casual looking than this. If they were going to do suits I’d choose tan. So you’ll probably say "so just do tan".. but they are buying suits not renting because they’d rather be able to spend money on something they can keep and tan isn’t an option as its not near as useful as a black suit. See the dilemma? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

brown would be nice, but brown tuxedo’s are terrible and my fiance wants to be slightly different than the groomsmen and do a tux.. currently the suit picked out was a 3 button for them, and he would be doing a 3 button tux that isn’t completely evening wear looking.
