Where can I find dresses for flower girls?

I was originally going to get them at Davids Bridal. But due to the cost of the dress (such a rip off for little girls dresses) I would like to get them somewhere else.. I need suggestions please. We need to order some asap.

And I want to have some things to keep them busy.

My fiance and I are getting married on the beach and I’d like to get some beach-craft ideas (easy things that the young ones can do without much assistance)…

We’re going to have a table set up for the kids to do the stuff on, (a specific table for kids-crafts)

We’ll put out some crayons and coloring pages for the kids of course..

One thing I thought of was to buy a bunch of white visors (hats).. , glue, and those little sea-shells (they sell them in craft stores, they’re sometimes died different colors)… and let the kids decorate their hats with sea shells…

As party favors for the kids we’re going to give out those funky sunglasses. The bright colored ones that are shaped like hearts or stars,..etc..
Also, bubbles!
And for the little girls, princess wands.
(I love fairy tales and princesses)

We’re also going to have plain white bags that the kids can decorate to keep their stuff in.
(more details coming)
White bags, like paper gift bags.

They sell these things (the visors, bags, glue, even the mini-sea shells) in a magazine that gets sent to my house….
they sell them in bulk and the prices are really cheap.

1 dozen visors for 5 dollars
and 1 unit (100 count) of the white paper gift bags for 10 dollars

Any other good craft ideas?
The youngest child will be about 2 years old..obviously needing close supervision for everything.

Notices will be posted reminding parents that they are responsible for their children, and asking them to please keep a close eye on them.

Many people will probably choose not to bring their kids (as maybe they’d like to relax that night…plus 7pm – 11pm is kind of late for kids)

getting totally out of hand???? Elves, dragons, vampires, cinderella .is this a wedding or a costume party? perhaps it’s just me and my age but I feel a wedding should be dignified, classy, and on a mature level. Sure, have an inspiration such as my first wedding…inspired by Gone With The Wind but I did that by the style of my dress and wearing a picture hat instead of a veil, and having my girls carry parasols and wearing wrist corsages..and didn’t have people as field hands chopping cotton and singing "Old Man River" or the reception room decorated like Atlanta Burning……..

I’ve seen questions in reference to beach themes, winter weddings, etc and they all sound lovely. And I-’m not so stuffy that I feel you can never bend tradition…but all this Princess-Cinderella, Dragons, Elves,Nascar, etc smacks not of the gentle, classy dignity you expect from a wedding celebration but little girls playing wedding ….anybody else of my generation feel the same way?
Oh Grammy am I ever with you..I got smart the second time I married…smal intimate gathering at my sister’s with very close family and friends..foods either ordered from a deli, bakery, and many home made..it was wonderful, fun and sooo family oriented….this theme insanity is turning wedding days into movie spectaculars befitting Ben Hur , Cleopatra and The Towering Inferno….I can just imagine it years down the road…."Here’s Mommy & Daddy at our Wedding..we’re the one’s wearing matching rings and vampire teeth!"
To all who disagree with me here..I will NOT give any of you a thumbs down as you all are intitled to your opinions, no matter how you express them..I just miss the dignity that these weddings are lacking…it should be a wedding, not a costume party….they are gonna be sooo embarassed years down the road at their wedding pix, believe me….especialy when their kids laugh at them…
For the record I don’t find ‘theme’weddings of this sort offensive…flabbergasted is more like it..and after that wore off I’ve been laughing hysterically ever since…..
To those calling me hypocritical you need to get your terminology straight..my first wedding gown and my grils dreses were in the old south antebellum style…I did not have an old south theme…style is not theme….and having wedding decor & colors influenced by a place such as the beach is not a theme unless you plan on dumping tons of sand on the dance floor and pass out scuba gear to your guests…sheesh….
I think this is one that the Yahoo! Answers members should vote on…aint gonna change my mind but it’ll be interesting to see which way it goes……and maybe the one who comes up with the chosen best answer wil approve of my wedding theme when my hubby and I retake our vows…he looks like Santa so maybe Santa’s Workship will be our theme…anybody have a reindeer suit????
…and I am not not angry, believe me…haven’t had such a good laugh in years…..

Wedding Colors?

I’m having such a terrible time picking out wedding colors.

My fiance and I will be getting married on the beach, in the end of May / beginning of June (we have not yet set an exact date)

It will be an evening wedding (7pm – 11pm are the hours that the club house is available for rent)

I really want a very MAGICAL, WHIMSICAL, kind of wedding. I love disney and disney princesses so I am incoporating them SOMEHOW (not sure how yet lol).. or just the "fairy tale princess" in general.. (giving the little girls at the wedding princess wands as favors)..

The colors I was thinking I’d love to have are a light shade of Pink, Lilac, and Silver.
What do you think of those colors?

My step-daughter is flying in for the summer and our 7 year anniversary will happen while she is here. On I whim I thought it would be a great idea to have a beach renewal ceremony (we eloped) and the reception at the beach park and then take all the kids camping. I don’t really want anything big and I am in the military so my family and friends are far from Hawaii and can’t afford to come on a whim (timeline is in a few weeks). I want to dress all the little girls up in flower girl dresses and be a bride for a day and take lots of pictures. My wedding party is made up of children. And the only guests that will be there are my mother and my son’s god parents. And since it will be in a few weeks I can’t really do very much budget-wise.

Would it be terribly tacky to line the aisle with beach balls, seat the guests in beach chairs and umbrellas and have a totally beach themed party and maybe coming to shore on a kayak. The wedding dress and flower girl dresses will be short in length and light (the weather will be around 90 degrees and it is on the beach in Hawaii). The groom and my 13 month old son (the ring bearer) will be wearing light khaki pants or shorts and a white short sleeved button down. Shoes are optional and no formal dress code. Then have the reception at the beach park and rent a bounce house and have a BBQ. Afterwards, let my mom have the beach cabin and take the kids camping at the beach?

After buying one of those brides magazines it sounded cheap and tacky but I thought at first it sounded cute, simple, family oriented and outdoorsy (and a little romantic). Which is exactly how we are…what do you think?
