Do you think it is really worth it to have your wedding and reception taped? I have one friend who did and another who did not.

First friend who has it says…I never watch it and didn’t really need it.

Second Friend does not have and and said yes yes yes get one because she regrets not getting her wedding footage.

What do you say?

Im planning our honeymoon for later this year and we really want to go somewhere special…with white sands, blue warms sea etc. But all the places i have looked at are excessively large amounts of money! We have a budget of £1500-2000 and i was hoping for some ideas…could be a country or a resort you know of…anything is appreciated!

Well my couzins are both surgeons (man and women lol) and they make a lot of money yearly. They just called my parents and invited them to their wedding and told them all the details.

How much do you think this will cost??

They are taking a first class flight out to hawaii to get married on the beach. They are paying for her mom and dads flight out and his mom and dads first class flight out to hawaii. Then spending a day there and having a party blah blah. She is wearing a oscar de la renta gown and jewlery.

The second celebration:

Then they are having her mom and dad and his mom and dad get picked up in a limo to be driven to the st.patricks cathedral. The whole family is going to this one. Then they bought three suites at the ritz carlton: One for her parents,his parents and them. She has a different gown too .

They are having huge cakes and etc.

She is giving her mom a tiffany and co necklace for a gift (favor).etc

Isnt it a little overboared?

My friend was supposed to be getting married in August at the beach (which is a 3hr drive from here) and she said she was trying to get pregnant, which I thought was a mistake. I thought she should get married and then concentrate on getting pregnant, especially since she is high risk. She just got pregnant and said they aren’t going to have the wedding, they MIGHT have a very small wedding with 15 people after the baby is born. I had already bought candles and candle holders with some stones and tulle to make the favors for the shower(enought for 50 people), plus paper plates, utensils, cups and decorations, since the shower was going to be in June. She also stated she still wants the bridal shower and wants me to invite the same 50 people even though they won’t be invited to the wedding. I think that is in poor taste, am I right? Then on top of it she also stated she wants me to throw her another baby shower, which I think is ridiculous. She gave everything away from the first baby who is only 6 and I don’t think we should be responsible for outfitting her all over again. Not to mention the money I have already spent on the bridal shower things plus the dress and shoes. I don’t know how to deal with this, please help.

I’m getting married and my uncle is the minister, my second cousin is doing the piano, and a guy my mom works with does DJing on the side. All of them said they don’t want money for it, but I feel ohligated to still give them something. How much should i pay them?

They seem like a drain of money to me. How much did you spend on yours?

Are there cheaper options? I think this is the one aspect of the wedding I care the least about.

We were thinking of alternating wine bottle stoppers & candy boxes at each reception table. There are 10 people per table (so 5 of each favor). My fiance & I love wine, so we chose the bottle stoppers, however we want to offer something different for those who do not drink wine. The alternating favors would ultimately save us some money too. Would this violate any sort of etiquette rules? Would it be better to stick to just one favor?

I have been looking around and reading about wedding favors- I have seen everything to very expensive -5 per person gifts and read about people actually just not doing them. I also was told just to give cheap cheap things like hersery kisses wrapped in tulle. I guess it’s because I am an artist but I want my favors to be nice and not just mints. I guess my questions are- What would you like to reiceve as a wedding favor and what was the nicest wedding favor you have ever revieved? I am thinking about making candles in little jars for my favors and I am getting mixed feeling on it. Like it should be candy or I should try to do something cheaper. Granted I want to save money but I don’t want to give someone a blahhhh favor.
Am I the only person who notices the wedding favor??

For example, clearly Kevin married Britney just for fame, money and lust.

I was invited to a co-workers bridal shower. There are only about 4 co workers that were invited the rest will be her friends and family. It is a late morning event from 11am-2pm and they will be serving us brunch at a restaurant. I’m not really sure what I should get her for a bridal shower gift since I don’t know her all that well. I am not going to the wedding as it is a destination wedding. If I choose to give a card with money, what is an appropriate amount? Any other ideas?

my friend is getting married next week. she doesn’t want a bachelorette party. I am throwing her a small bridal shower potluck dinner. i need ideas on how to make it fun and interesting. im thinking about going to school for a wedding planner… what are the pluses and minuses to this? i tried asking how to keep the business a float and the lady at the school said we keep all of the profit. is that correct? all the money i make from each wedding is just pocketed?
