wedding dress code: what attire is appropriate for the ceremony and then the reception?

is it okay for me to wear dress pants to the ceremony and then change into a formal dress at the reception?
thanks for the answers so far! to add to this question, it is a formal event and apparently a few girls are bringing 2 different outfits (both of which are dresses) for the event. I hope wearing a blazer and dress pants for the ceremony is appropriate.

it honestly depends on how fancy the wedding is. usually i just wear a simple black dress and heels or black dress pants, heels, and a really dressy top to both the wedding and the reception. there is no need to change unless it is super fancy and formal.

Wear the same thing to both. Honestly no one is going to care what you are wearing…all eyes will be on the bride. Really, the only person that may change clothes is the bride from her wedding dress to a formal gown.
That would be okay, but make sure never to wear any thing that’s too revelaing, any thing that’s red, or any thing that is better than the bride because a wedding is the bride’s day to shine, not you.
