I’d say about six months before. It is a big event, and you want people to make sure they are free. Imagine how bummed you would be if you sent invitations out a month before, and half the people said they could not attend!
You must send "keep this date" about 6 months before, invitations 3 months. Pleas check some wedding sites on the internet because you needed to know this.
Planning is very important. At least 1 year in advance for the announcement so guest can make necessary arrangements on their jobs – vacations, coverage etc. And handle their finances. 6 months prior to the wedding date, the actual invitation should be sent out. Tell your guest they must RSVP by a certain date (maybe 6 weeks before the wedding).
If you can, hire a wedding coordinator to handle all of the paperwork, florist, hotel accommodations etc. Stress the importance of responses because people forget and what you put out monetary wise, you don’t get back.
Send em 6-8 months prior to your wedding date so that your guests can plan for it
