Where is the wedding band soposed to be at?

I am not married yet, but I am engaged. And I have been wondering what the tradition is for where the wedding band is soposed to be…on the inside of the engagement ring; closest to the heart…..or on the outside on the engagement ring so that the center diamond is closest to the heart?
Please no answers saying I can have it whatever way I want it, I just want to know what it is soposed to be traditionally, thank you!

Wedding band first. The engagement ring should be moved to the right hand prior to the ceremony leaving the ring finger open for the wedding band. Then the engagement ring is placed after the band.
Inside….the band goes on first then the engagement ring.
traditionally, it’s supposed to be closer to the heart, more sentimental so it goes on your finger first, then your engagement ring!
My mom told me you put your wedding band on the inside & the your engagement ring on the outside. She said the engagement ring is to protect the wedding band.
During the wedding I actually had my MOH wear my engagement ring b/c my right hand is bigger than my left & it would not fit on my right hand. My best man had my wedding ring until we exchanged rings (tip give it to best man in box I did not think about this until it was too late I gave it to my best man lose talk about be scared he would lose it). After the wedding my MOH gave me back my engagement ring in the back of the church so guest leaving the wedding could see the rings together.
